Prof. Om Nath Bimali, is Head of the Department of Sanskrit, Faculty of Arts, University of Delhi, Delhi, India

Prof. Bimali earned his doctoral and graduate degrees from University of Delhi, New Delhi. He did his graduation from M.D. University, Rohtak, Haryana in 1988. Prof. Bimali has also done an advanced Diploma in Applied Linguistics from University of Delhi. Currently, he is serving as the Head,  Department of Sanskrit in University of Delhi, New Delhi, India. In addition to this, he has also served as a Visiting Professor in Hankuk University of Foreign Studies for the year 2015- 2017 in Global Campus and then for the year 2019- 2020 in Seoul Campus, Korea. In the past three years he has delivered about 10 lectures across the country. Last year, Prof. Bimali published his book entitled Nature of Self: A Critique on the Vedantic Metaphysics of Diversity and Unity as Reflected in the Bhashyarkaprakasha of Ram Ray Kavi, Ed. Chanwahn Kim. Hansang Kim ISBN 979-11-5556-190-4-93800. This work was supported by the National Research Foundation of Korea Grant, funded by the Korean Government. 

During the academic year from September 1, 2019, to August 31, 2020, Prof. Bimali guided, supervised, mentored, and edited the Hindi-Korean Dictionary Project operated by the Department of Hindi at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. During the academic year from September 1, 2019, to August 31, 2020, he guided, monitored, mentored, and edited the publishing of Hindi textbooks as part of the Critical Foreign Language Project operated by the Hindi Department at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies. He also worked on the University of Pune’s “Concordance of conceptual udanisadic terms” project during the 20th month. Prof. Bimli has also played an important role in spreading Sanskrit globally while teaching it in South Korea.
